We took Rick's mom up to White Mountain to see the Wild Horse Loop. We have never before seen so many wild horses before. There have been a few here and there, when we go up, but I think the mixture of cold weather, and low feed means they are out and about more than during the summer.

We saw wild horses fighting, these two just finished the hoof dancing part of the fight. It was just amazing. There was a mare, and colt standing off in the distance waiting for these two stallions to finish up their man business.

Each time we would round a turn we would see another herd of them, and they would run away. They were really a sight to see!!

Mostly though they were hungry. They look different than domesticated horses, in that they are more sturdy looking. Some are shorted, but most are large.

The Butte on the left hand side of the above picture is Pilot Butte. I imagine that standing on top with binoculars would be amazing. Unfortunately, as you would know if you read the earlier blogs about Pilot Butte, I will not be climbing it any time soon.

Not all of the wild horses were brown. Most were, but there were buckskins, my favorite, and paint, my other favorite, as well.

I don't know how well you all will be able to see it, but the horse, second from left, is a paint.
The buckskin on the left was beautiful. We were so lucky to have seen such an amazing sight.
