Our New Home?????
Well Rick just got back from his interview today and we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed that he will get something. We are pretty excited about moving! We saw everything on our first visit and we fell in love with the place. It is windy, lots of snow, and the town is a little sad looking, but the people are nice, the home prices are affordable for the wages, and the recreation is amazing.

There is a long period of time when the weather is not conducive to being outside, but they have a recreation center that puts all the centers I have ever been to here in Ca to shame. There is an indoor swimming pool, a full, and I mean FULL gym with every imaginable machine, 4 indoor basketball courts, 8 handball/racketball courts, a walking track on the upper level of the basketball courts, and the most amazing thing; an ice rink. The cost is only $55 per month. That includes full use of the place, any classes including swim lessons and ice skating or hockey lessons.

Then we went to the Jr college to see the dinosaur exhibits and even though you can't see me take a look at the huge T-Rex behind me.

My Uncle and Aunt took us out on the prairie and showed us the sights including the place they hunt. Rick was hooked.

If Rick gets the job then we will be moving in with my Aunt and Uncle until we can buy something. They have a lot of extra room and have assured us we are not imposing. I am sure they will let us know when we are!!! At least I hope so. We are sure going to miss all the family and friends we are leaving but we are excited for the prospect of starting our lives the way we want to live it.

Weekend with Duke

A Kiss from Duke
This weekend Katie and Daddy went up to the ranch for the first time without Mommy. I enjoyed my first weekend home alone, or almost. My cousin Nicole joined me for some much needed girl time. She has 7 children at the moment (4 are hers, and 3 are foster children) so she needed the time off more than me.
Rick and Katie got to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa and Duke. She did great. She walked up the hill and fed Duke carrots and apples. Katie isn't ready to sit on him yet though. She was also able to play in the rain, jump in puddles, and be spoiled by her grandparents. Grandma got to spend some good time with her, which will help as this weekend Rick and I are off to Wyoming to see if that is where we want to move. Katie sure wouldn't lack for horses there!!! Although the real Duke won't be there. This will be a tough decision as it means we will be leaving family and friends, but it will give us better schools for Katie, the opportunity to buy a home, and who knows maybe a chance to start that business Rick wants!!!
I hope this post finds everyone well, and I hope to hear from everyone soon!
