Christmas 2010

Christmas was so exciting this year in the Copsey household. Katie is at an age that makes Christmas magical! She was so excited for Santa, she couldn't wait to see what he brought her. Rick found the NORAD website so we could track Santa, and Katie was pretty nervous to stay up late and watch a movie with her Grandma, because you know, Santa won't come to a house with lights on and people awake. So as the movie, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, started Katie told Grandma, "Hang on, I have to check where Santa is. If he is close I can't watch the movie with you because I have to go to bed." He was currently in Russia so she had just enough time!
Rick did the usual barbecuing on Christmas Eve. It was even colder and snowier than last year, but he braved it for some rib eye steaks.
Grandma came to visit and spend the holiday with us. She too was able to experience the fun of children at Christmas. Notice Katie's outfit. She dressed herself, as she always does. The pink leopard print tights go wonderfully with the purple sequin skirt, don't you think???
Christmas morning Katie woke up early (about 6:30) and was so surprised that Santa had come and left so much loot! I asked her if she had heard Santa during the night and she said "yup, he sounded like this..." and she put on her boots and stomped on the tile next to the fire place. Clint gave her the Woody doll. I imagine he is thinking it is a toy he will like when she gets tired of it! In the picture above he is holding the card Daddy got him. It was yummy!
We truly had a wonderful Christmas. Santa aside, Katie also understands the real reason for the holiday, and that Christmas wouldn't exist without Jesus being born. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and that you also were able to remember the true reason we celebrate.
