A Kiss from DukeThis weekend Katie and Daddy went up to the ranch for the first time without Mommy. I enjoyed my first weekend home alone, or almost. My cousin Nicole joined me for some much needed girl time. She has 7 children at the moment (4 are hers, and 3 are foster children) so she needed the time off more than me.
Rick and Katie got to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa and Duke. She did great. She walked up the hill and fed Duke carrots and apples. Katie isn't ready to sit on him yet though. She was also able to play in the rain, jump in puddles, and be spoiled by her grandparents. Grandma got to spend some good time with her, which will help as this weekend Rick and I are off to Wyoming to see if that is where we want to move. Katie sure wouldn't lack for horses there!!! Although the real Duke won't be there. This will be a tough decision as it means we will be leaving family and friends, but it will give us better schools for Katie, the opportunity to buy a home, and who knows maybe a chance to start that business Rick wants!!!
