Caught Ya

Mommy: "What are you doing Clint?"
Clint: "I on Keey's bed" (I'm on Katie's bed)
Mommy: "What do you have Clint?
Clint: "Keey's toy"(Katie's toy)
Mommy: "Are you supposed to be playing with Katie's toys?"
Clint: (See picture below for his answer)
Who could resist this face.  Well lets be honest Katie could if she had caught him!!

3 Babies

Can you identify these babies.  They are all about the same age in these pictures, and while they all look different in their individual ways, they are all related.  Lets see who can get this right.  The above picture is baby #1
 This is baby #2
And finally we have baby #3.  I bet most of you will get the answers correct but some of you may not.
Good Luck!!!

The Kids

Parents often worry what will happen when a new child enters the family.  Will the others be excited, or envious???  I wasn't worried about Katie, after all she's been through this before.  But Clint being two could go either way.  I worried that he'd be especially clingy, and not like it when I held Abby.  But I was pleasantly surprised that he wasn't.  At first he just wanted to sit with us.  If I was nursing Abby he wanted to be right in the chair with us having a bottle of milk.  At bedtime the first week he wanted me to sit with him while he fell asleep.  Again not a problem.  But after the first week he just kinda went with the flow.  He loves his Abby, and wants to hold her any chance he gets.  He loves to touch her fingers and toes, and oh how he laughs when she sneezes.  He pushes her in her swing and when we say whoa Clint not so fast he slows right down.  If she cries, he says "shh, it's ok Abby, you'll be ok."  He is one awesome  big brother.
Katie has turned into the little mom of the group.  She loves to put Clint to bed, reading him a story, and making sure he's tucked in.  She is teaching Clint new words, cleaning up after herself, and helping me with things I need.  Although she has to do all this between swim lessons and soccer.  She loves to hold Abby while I take care of Clint, or do a quick chore, or take a picture.
Yup I know I am so lucky.  Things could have been much worse.  I could have three screaming children all day making life crazy.  But instead I have a wonderful six year old helper, a crazy funny two year old, and an infant who has found a place in our hearts forever!!!

Abigail Marie

Our little Abby was born last Tuesday, June 5th.  She was almost two weeks late, and when she arrived we were shocked to find out she was our smallest baby!  She weighed in at 7 lbs 3 ozs and 19 inches long.  She has long brown hair and very dark eyes.
This is mostly how she looks, as she sleeps all the time.  The first week was rough on sleep but we seemed to have fallen into a pattern of her sleeping 3 hours at a stretch at night, which helps immensely!
Clint is a very good big brother.  He likes to kiss Abby on her head, and if I am feeding her he likes to sit right next to me.  He has become slightly clingy, which we expected, but slowly he's getting over that.

Katie has gone above and beyond her big sister duties.  Holding Abby for me when I need to help Clint, or playing with Clint and distracting him while I help Abby.
With the first week over, and life settling into some sort of pattern, I can finally sit back in awe and wonder at the wonderful family Rick and I have created!!!  Welcome to the world Abby we are so happy you are here!

Graduation

Katie graduated from Kindergarten this last week.  She and the rest of her class were so excited!!!  They all did such a fabulous job during the ceremony.  As her teacher I was incredibly proud!!!
She was so lucky to have so much of her family there for her.  Grammie came out to see the graduation!  She was able to spend the weekend with us, and we hoped she would also get to meet her newest grandchild but no luck.  Katie and Grammie did tons of fun things together, like reading books, going to the water park at the rec center, going for walks, and playing!
Aunt Carrie took a day off work to spend with her favorite great niece!  She was also able to come to Katie's kindergarten mass and I know how much Katie loved having her there!
Daddy was there, of course!  He had just gotten off work that morning so he was pretty tired, but he wouldn't miss his little girl's first graduation for the world!  He is one proud Dad!!!
Katie is so excited to be on summer vacation finally!  She has plans of sleeping in and playing with friends.  But she can't wait for first grade when she gets to sit at a real desk!

Happy Bed Time

Clint thinks big kid beds are awesome.  For one he would have a pillow, and for two no rails!!!!  This is story time in our house and it takes place in Katie's bed.  Clint pretended at first to go right to sleep, but he couldn't control his giggles at being in Katie's bed, and was found soon enough.  He likes this new nightly routine, and she does too.  Just so long as he eventually gets out so she can get some real sleep!
