Katie's new room

A few months ago we decided that since we had to remodel the guest room to be the nursery, we should do Katie's room too.

Katie was able to pick the color (which she did very well!) and the theme. She decided on a princess room, and we did our best to make it happen. Her Grandma got her these wall stickers, and she did a great job putting them up!

She loves her new room. All we still need are the closet doors (which need to be painted) and a bedroom door. But she is thoroughly enjoying her new space. She can't wait for everyone to see it!

Grandpa Visits

Rick's dad came out to visit us for the weekend on the tail end of a cross country trip. He spent the weekend with us and explored Southwest Wyoming. We took him to see pieces of the Oregon Trail, and our town. Katie couldn't wait for him to get here, and was jumping for joy when she saw him.
She was so excited to give him the grand tour of the house, and teach him all she knows. Katie just learned to count to 100 and told him promptly how. She also taught him to play Mario Kart, and the ladybug game. She is very good at both, and he seemed to enjoy being "taught." We can't wait for our next visitors, Katie will keep them very busy!

Painting and Ukelale Playing

I went to an beer and wine tasting auction at work last night, and I won two prizes, a night at a hotel, and a ukulele. Katie confiscated the ukulele when she got home this morning (she spent the night with my aunt since I didn't get home until so late.) She happened to be wearing this dress and the flower in her hair and it went to perfectly not to share with all of you.
Rick has also completed painting Katie's room. He still has trim work but the new electricity is in and the fan works. He has been pretty overwhelmed with not only work, but getting the rooms finished in time for Little Ricky to get here. He is in the home stretch now and we are almost ready to decorate.

As you can see, he had help with Katie's room. She couldn't wait to get some paint on the walls and did a pretty decent job with little mess.

She is making her room a princess room complete with a castle wall paper mural for the wall. We'll post it as soon as it's done!

Blowing Bubbles

We are finally, FINALLY, getting some nice weather here in the Rock. Today it got up to around 60 degrees. We have to take advantage of all the nice weather we can get!!!
So we blew bubbles. This has become Katie's new favorite outfit. She puts it on almost daily, high heels and all. What a perfect outfit for blowing bubbles right?

9 Months

The final month has arrived. All the heartburn, sleepless nights, and swollen extremities is coming to an end. We sure can't wait to meet little Ricky! (Which may or may not be his name, but sounds good for now!)

But Mooommmy...

"I like all these clothes."
"But Katie your skirt doesn't match those tights."
"Well I like the skirt and tights, they're cute."
How do I argue with that. Everyone at church thought Katie looked adorable. Complete with hair only brushed in the front, toothpaste on her cheek, and this amazing outfit. She felt so grown up because she did it all by herself. How do I argue with that???

Wow it's been awhile!!!

Time has flown since I have written last. Christmas was great, and we enjoyed the quiet, although we missed the rest of our extended family, and the noise, and laughter they provide each holiday. I am currently 7 months pregnant, and we are gearing up for little Ricky's arrival. Katie is super excited. She can't wait to have a little brother! We have a little spring fever in our house, and if you look behind her you will see the snow still on the ground. But we don't let that bother us, we just plant indoors.

While we are busy with spring time thoughts and baby growing Rick is getting busy on the baby's room. He has been busy in between shifts painting, and putting in electrical for a ceiling fan.
Work is going well for both of us. Rick is back in the mine and roof bolting once again. It's a job. School is going well for me, and my Kindergartners are showing amazing progress. It is such an amazing thing to watch them learn and grow throughout the year. They are all reading, and writing, and beginning to add. Such smart children!
Hopefully I will be better about this site with all the excitement going on around here. I hope all is well with all of you!
