Christmas Break

This Christmas break my mom and dad came for their annual Christmas visit.  They were lucky enough to come the day before Katie's Christmas concert for school.  The picture above was what Katie wore for her concert.  The children all did wonderfully!
I was afraid that Clint would act a little shy around my parents and not show them all the adorable, and messy, things he likes to do.  I didn't need to worry though.  I don't think Clint knows how to be shy.
He took to Grammie and Papa like they were around every day.  Which I am sure made their hearts happy, and ours too.  In fact, Clint prefers men over women and he LOVED for Papa to play with him and read his favorite stories.
We took my parents to Jackson and paid a visit to the Grand Tetons. Daddy is trying to get Clint to stay put for just one second while a picture is taken, but alas, this was the best that could be done since Clint seems to only want Daddy when available. Interesting fact, on the other side of the highway (behind the photographer) there were several hundred bison and 6 moose loitering around (out of camera range). The wildlife viewing was great on this trip.
My dad had never been out of Rock Springs, and while it is a nice town, it doesn't show the true beauty of Wyoming that the Tetons show.  He really seemed to enjoy all that we saw.
A trip to Jackson in the winter isn't complete without taking a sleigh ride on the elk refuge.  We were all impressed with the trophy size elk we saw.  We learned interesting facts about these big guys, and Rick and my dad were able to control their itchy trigger finger!!!
As you drive behind the elk refuge, you find the spot where the area's big horn sheep come to winter. These three rams were licking people's cars as they went by slowly. In the background, you can see other sheep that were not as brave as these buggers.

Hello Santa

Today we had a Breakfast with Santa event to attend.  Our school puts it on for the entire community and it is a lot of fun.  Rick goes with the menfolk and cooks for all the people.  This year they told him his pancake batter (as that was his job to make the batter) was exceptional!!  Katie, Clint, and I came to eat and talk to the big guy.  Katie told him she'd like and Nintendo DS for Christmas.  He told her that sometimes his elves forget stuff but that he'd be sure to remind them.  She also told Santa that Clint would like Cars stuff and he told her there was a full bag of Cars stuff just for him.  Katie was a little surprised to hear Clint was good enough this year to get a lot!  Clint clearly didn't know what to think of Santa.

But he sat there like a good boy deciding (as you can see by the thumb) that Santa's just ok.  Maybe he'll think better of him when he see's the gifts Santa will bring him!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

My little baby girl is six years old tomorrow.  It seems like just yesterday she was Clint's age and toddling around.  I told her this today and she replied "well I'll always be your baby girl mommy, even if I'm a big girl now."  I'm glad she accepts that fact and will remain one of my babies forever, even though she isn't!
Happy Birthday Katie Bug!!!

Last Christmas

Clint was 7 months old here, and Katie had just turned 5.  I just thought a look back at last Christmas would  be appropriate before I take the numerous pictures this year.  Time seems to move so fast and the kids are so different looking this year.  Katie is getting a little better about coordinating colors (a little not a lot, which is just the way I like it!!)  Clint has a lot more hair, in fact we are hoping to get him that first haircut from a hair stylist (not mommy) very soon.
I feel better anyway having some sort of Christmas-like photos up since it is December!!
